1. Mosta Dome (Rotunda of Mosta)

Begin your day at one of Malta’s most famous religious landmarks. The Rotunda of Mosta boasts one of the largest unsupported domes in Europe and is renowned for a WWII miracle—when a bomb pierced the dome during mass but failed to explode, sparing hundreds of lives. Marvel at the architectural splendour, learn the history behind the miracle, and explore the stunning interior art and design.

2. Ta’ Qali Crafts Village

Next, we’ll head to Ta’ Qali, Malta’s traditional crafts hub. Once a British airfield, it’s now a vibrant artisan village where local craftsmen create hand-blown glass, intricate silver filigree, handmade lace, pottery, and more. Watch the masters at work and take home a piece of authentic Maltese craftsmanship. You’ll also have time to browse shops and perhaps enjoy a coffee or snack in the area.

3. Mdina – The Silent City

We then journey to the historic walled city of Mdina, Malta’s old capital, where time stands still. Walk through narrow, winding streets that date back over a thousand years and soak in the baroque and medieval architecture.

Stops in Mdina include:

    • Mdina Cathedral (St. Paul’s Cathedral)
Visit this grand 17th-century baroque cathedral, believed to be built on the site of the Roman governor’s house, where Saint Paul was hosted after his shipwreck in Malta. Inside, admire intricate marble tombstones, ceiling frescoes, and sacred art.

    • Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum
Step into the home of a 19th-century nobleman. This well-preserved townhouse is packed with antiques, rare books, oriental carpets, and period furnishings—a true gem for history and art lovers.

    • Greeks Gate
It gets its name from a small Greek community that once lived in this quarter of the city. Tucked away on the western side of Mdina, the gate leads out into the former ditch and offers a quieter, more atmospheric entry point into the Silent City.

Is a gate into the fortified city of MdinaMalta. The gate was originally built in the medieval period, and its outer portal was built in the Baroque style in 1724 by Charles François de Mondion. Despite this, the rear part of its gate retains its original form, making it one of the few visible remains of Mdina’s medieval walls.

    • Mdina Bastions
End your Mdina experience with a walk along the impressive city walls, offering panoramic views of Malta’s rolling countryside. It’s a perfect photo opportunity and a moment of serenity.
